So, it's the night before my flight. Yes, I'm going back to the Philippines after 4 years. I just wished it was under better circumstances.
My grandpa, the one who had taken care of me and my sister until we were 6 years old, passed away last Sunday, April 25, 2010 due to cardiac arrest. It was unexpected and very, very shocking. Thus, the family and I, as well as my other aunts and uncles, are all heading back to the Philippines for his funeral. It was only a couple of months ago that we were planning to head back for my grandparents to renew their wedding vows. Instead, we're attending a funeral.
I won't be reblogging on Tumblr or posting anything on my Blogger until I get back. There's pretty much no internet there (there is at my cousin's house, but it's my cousin on the other side of the family so we're not going to be staying there...).

So, I clearly had time on my hands today and decided to finally make the unofficial schedule for next school year. Unofficial because I still need to enroll in the classes =). This was the only one I could make, after taking the entire day to try to find alternates to some of the courses. Failed because the courses I need for my majors are very, very limited.

Worst, and probably the only, case scenario, I have classes running until 9. And yeah. They're all Philosophy, except for the 2 English classes that run til night. (You can pretty much tell what my majors are now XD English and Philosophy ^ ^)

Alright. So I've been seeing "ulzzang" on pretty much everything Korean or Asian Fashion-related on my Tumblr and it's been bugging the shit out of me that I didn't know what it was. All I noticed was that they were Asian chicks who looked like little kids. =|? So I Google'd it & came up with this:

Ulzzang (pronounced uhl-jang) translates to "best face" or "good looking" in Korean. This slang is often used by netizens, contests including girls competing for the title of "ulzzang". However, even if this is true, Ulzzang has developed into a subculture/style, rather than a competition/contest event.

They're usually Korean girls (sometimes Chinese or Japanese; some even being in North America), who all share similar features. Eyes being the main focus and concept of the look. They usually use lots of products to make their eyes very large, such as eyelid glue, Korean cosmetic circle lenses, eyeliner, long fake eyelashes, etc. They also usually have fair skin, a small nose and thin small lips, just like anime characters. They use a lot of editing websites such as Photoshop and Haduri to edit their pictures to make them even more prettier. Yeah. After reading this, I finally understood what it was. And it's so fake. Seriously. No, I'm not "jealous" because they look pretty. I'm just saying they look fake because no one can actually be that perfect-looking. After I looked at some pics, I was thinking "WTH? LOL so really. I never got to put my New Years resolution to work since I don't really update my blogger anymore. Well, I really do intend to, but Tumblr is a lot quicker to use. I've posted 1097 posts in March alone on Tumblr, which is pretty crazy, even for me.

Of course, I'm still keeping this up :) I've added a widget that shows my most recent updates on Tumblr, as well as my Twitter. So, really, everything's working right. For now. (I say for now just because something always goes wrong later. I'm already anticipating it. XD)

I've been so busy with school and all, trying to make it to second year just fine. Actually, I'm cranky and pissed most of the time since my life recently only revolves around studying, eating, sleeping, and pooping. Yeah. Not much of a life, but hey, that's university for you. I just can't wait until I'm done with exams to relax. I've been spending every single day, literally from when I wake up at 10:30am to when I sleep around 2am - studying. It's pretty crazy and I feel like I'm going to go insane with my coffee intake, but whatever. It should all be worth it in the end. One thing for sure: tests, exams & high demands for higher education completely KILL the fun out of learning. I used to love studying and learning so much. Now, it's just a chore. And I hate it.

Okays. I'm gone. Enough with my ranting and blah blah blah. Time to read once again~

So, while I was on my break today, I finally came up with one of my official projects for this year! ^ ^
Well actually it's 5 projects into 1 big, BIG project ^ ^

Here's the gist of it: it's called the Die Liebe (Love) Saga project. It consists of 5 mini-projects, and each mini-project contains 5 one-shots. I've decided to pause my novel-writing for a while to work on writing one-shots. ^ ^ The first 4 mini-projects contain brand-new one-shots, whereas the 5th project contains 4 remakes of one story from each of the other 4 mini-projects plus one new one-shot. I'm hoping to have it done by the end of this year (it seems like a long time, but, with school still going on, I need the time to do it ^ ^;)

What I'm going to do with the project after, I have no idea :D I didn't think that far ahead yet ^ ^;

New Years Resolutions:

5. Avoid drama! (Highly doubt it though = =; I attract drama.)

PS: Watched 2012 a few nights ago. It was pretty sick but highly unrealistic. A family surviving all catastrophes from California or whatever state all the way to China is impossible. But the graphics were awesome! ^ ^ Must-watch!

OMG. So I just came back from watching Avatar. It is so AWESOME!

Clearly it's highly unrealistic, but I absolutely love the graphics!

I wanted to watch it in IMAX but they were sold out. Until January = =;. So I ended up watching the Digital 3D instead. It was okay ^ ^. Went with Ruka-unnie & appa ^ ^ <3

The line was ridiculous just to get into the theatre. I was so happy we got there an hour and a half early = =;. Theatre was packed. Only annoying thing was that there were some restless little kids who talked through the entire movie. I wanted so bad to throw popcorn. Really. I usually could ignore the talking, but then this was a really good movie, and that kid was practically beside me. And same said kid went to the bathroom how many times. WTF. Small bladder, much?

But, I'd seriously go watch it again ^ ^;. It's that good. If you haven't watched it yet, GO! And definitely book online tickets for IMAX when you get the chance. Definitely worth the $10+ you'll be spending.

So.. I've been playing one of the games I got on Boxing Day.

(The title of the game is the title of this entry in case you haven't noticed ^ ^;)

And OMG. It's pretty fun. I like it. It's similar to Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. But I'm stuck. GR! No matter what I did, I just can't figure out how to do this one part.

So I Google'd and Youtube'd it. KrazyBrawl on Youtube only has a playthrough up until the part where I finished a lonnnggg time ago. Boo.. Google fails because there aren't any walkthroughs yet. Not on IGN or GamesRadar or SuperChearts. KrazyBrawl has only been playing this game the same time I got it. So we're basically on the same part unless he/she already finished the game but didn't post up videos..?

Once upon a yesterday, it was boxing day. Yup.

I got woken up at 5:45 in the morning, got ready in 15 mins (it was actually a miracle because I usually take an hour and a half getting ready..), left the house at 6, and was in front of Best Buy at Bramalea City Center by 6:10.

Yeah. LOL. I wanted to see what I could buy. It's UNBELIEVABLE how long the LINE was OUTSIDE the place. Ridiculous. And to top it all off, it was RAINING!

But it was all good XD. I went to buy some more games for my Wii (^ ^!). It was so awkward too. LOL. Each Best Buy worker works with one person at a time in the games section so they don't get any of the game orders mixed up with someone else's. So, while all the GUYS were waiting and yelling out for help, this one worker told them to wait while he cased my 3 games XD. LOL! So funny. I got so many weird looks like, "What's this tiny chick doing with games?" Ahaha. Made my day!

Got clothes too ^ ^. Plus movie passes from Old Navy cuz one of my daddy's friends gave us this band where if I bought something that's $20 & + at Old Navy, I just show them this band and we get 4 movie passes free!

Then I went home to play my new games ^ ^

An advanced MERRY CHRISTMAS!
My family and I finally put the tree up today, and this is the result!
Instead of putting it in the same spot for the past 6 years (the family room), we moved it into the living room.
This year our theme is gold. (The past 6 years, it has been red and gold LOL. Last year, we even hung up candy-canes for the little kids to take during the christmas party... but we forgot to tell the kids to take them. Those candy canes are still in the snack cupboard. > <;) It looks pretty nice this year. My mommy tried to copy the design from this place she goes to. Props to my mommy! ^ ^ <3

Something I should mention about myself first: I LOVE to sing.
Another thing I should mention about myself: I've recorded my singing a couple years back. And starting again now.

Along with my sister & our other friend, we've decided to try to do videos, just for the hell of it. However, I'm very picky, as well as a perfectionist, therefore I want to either do the original song made by the artists themselves or our own singing. Since the former is in Korean, we've decided to do our first video in the latter, which will be in English. However, recording our singing is proving to be difficult. I'd know because I've been working on my own clippings with the instrumental for 2 days now.

The speed on the instrumental is so OFF from the original. I would know since I put the original song and the instrumental back-to-back and listened to them play at the same time.
I'm not using a proper recording mic. I'm using this headset by Logitech purely meant for chatting. LOL. I don't want to dig around my basement for a proper mic, and, even if I do find one (which I will since we have a lot..), I don't know how to somehow attach it to my laptop. I don't feel like spending hundreds of dollars on actual recording equipment either. Yes, I'm cheap.
I'm using Audacity. The program itself isn't really bad, but since I was more used to Final Cut Pro editing on the Mac computers (DYTV > <;), I was able to edit sound there better. Plus, I haven't used Audacity in such a long time. I don't even know what half the features are.

I so envy my cousin, who actually has the mics you see in those real recording studios. *hyuk hyuk!

BTW, the song is none other than 2NE1's I Don't Care, with the English lyrics & voice by youtuber JeAnnEhriel.

If you haven't noticed already, I change my layout a lot. I just get really REALLY tired of staring at the same one for too long. This would be my ... 5th layout, I believe. o_o;

I just finished watching this right NOW, and I really, really HAD to post the link to this.
My friend recommended this movie to me last night after I was watching one of my all-time favorites, 200 Pounds Beauty, starring Kim Ah-Jung & Joo Jin Mo. It is a must-see, despite it being 3 years old LOL.

This movie is called A Millionaire's First Love starring Hyun Bin and Lee Yeon Hee.

"Kang Jae-kyung is your typical spoiled rich kid; he’s arrogant, drives sporty cars, attends the big clubs, rides through school corridors on his motorcycle and - wait, that’s not typical at all is it? As his 18th birthday approaches he’s set to inherit his grandfather’s fortune, but that comes with a price. Jae-kyung is going to have to earn his fortune. This was a picture I took yesterday on my way to my mommy's work.

It is the Swarovski Crystal Wish Tree 2009 event at the Toronto Eaton Center. It was unveiled last week Thursday, November 19, 2009, and hosted by BreakfastTV's own Dina Pugliese.
I wish I was there to see it but I had to go home =(. After watching the video, I'll definitely go next year if they do host another one. =D GO SWAROVSKI!! <3

Something that I've been trying to avoid, but no matter how many times I try it always manages to stalk me, is drama.

D.R.A.M.A

How much I hate that word. Sure, because of it, my life had been, I guess, interesting. It was never boring. I say that now, when everything's in the past. While it was happening was a whole different story. Everyday was full of drama to the point where I didn't want to show up to school. No, I wasn't being bullied or anything like that. I just didn't want to have to go to school and deal with that shit at 8 in the morning. That one little thing, however, can never be avoided.

What I'm going through right now is the thing that I hate the most. And this time, it's painful. Not physically, but emotionally. In the past I've been able to overlook the drama, knowing that it was just some petty thing; a part of the high school scene. It never really hurt me. I'm not too sure why, but I guess it's the knowledge that I can move on without any regrets. I've treated all the drama as experience and as a reference for the future. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, refer to this.) I don't feel like repeating myself. The sad thing is that I've made that one thing my entire world for roughly a month and a half. As short as the time limit sounds, it really meant a lot to me. Everyday I'd be in that wonderful & perfect world of mine. And I've learned that hard way that anything wonderful or perfect never lasts. My friend was right. Eternity doesn't exist.

So what am I going to do now? Well since talking and trying to turn things back to the way it was before hasn't been working (instead it's doing the opposite effect), I'm just going to disappear for a while. I'll just bury myself in my studies and hope that everything will get better. A part of me doubts that things will get better, but I can't help having that tiny little hope. Always looking positively at things is both my greatest strength and biggest flaw. I'm beginning to contemplate on whether I should turn into a pessimist or not. Time will tell, I guess. If things don't get better, and I lose one of the important things in my life ... I'll think of a solution for that when it comes.

That dish would be the famous Filipino Adobo! My mommy did the Tagalog version of Adobo.
Yes, there's a Tagalog version. My mommy's Ilocano, so normally she would do the Ilocano version of it, but it's so dry D=. So she made the Tagalog version, which has more of the soup-ness =)
It having more fat compared to the Ilocano version, I'm not too sure. >_o.
If you ever go to a Filipino house or to the Philippines, first thing you should ask is, "Can I have adobo?" You will love it!
FYI, there's also Chicken Adobo =)

PS: That's my monkey - a present that one of my ex's gave me. It was stuffed so long in my closet that I felt bad for it. So I finally took it out and now I never part with it. LOL I love monkeys <3

Something that you don't know: I LOVE pictures and take them.
I was recently looking through my albums and realized that the majority of them are pretty much just random shots.
Thus, I've decided to post my (edited) images up! =)
Yes, edited. Just because I'm using a camera phone for all this, which makes quality pretty much crap unless I edit them. (I don't own a camera, not even a digital one. My daddy has one of those nice professional-photography-type cameras but he won't let me actually use it for my convenience.)
What I'm using for editing (since I don't have Photoshop anymore *hyeuk hyeuk!) is Picnik. Feel free to try it out, though it's very VERY limited for free users. What a pity. It's such a huge success for me too.
